This is a level 2-3 course (apprentice to practitioner)

This course offers training in traditional medical astrology through the classical Hippocratic model and the Spica Temperament Grid. Designed for intermediate and advanced students, it teaches how to assess constitution, temperament, and health tendencies using a structured, classical framework that integrates environment, elements, qualities, and planetary signatures. Students move beyond theory into applied methods, learning how to diagnose temperament patterns, identify imbalance, and track constitutional change across the stages of life. The course bridges ancient medical philosophy and practical chart interpretation, providing a disciplined system for serious astrological practitioners working with health, psychology, and biography.

I have come to grow and understand much about myself through Nathan’s teachings - for this I am extremely graetful. To the prospective student: I would advise that you have the time to really delve into the lessons, to gain a full appreciation for what is being taught. You’ll also need a lot of time to devote to practicing applying the rules and methods, to understanding their various nuances and how these are applied to various charts [...] - your time and devotion is required. Together with this, you should also be prepared to delve very deeply into the subject matter as well, in order to fully appreciate it. Take the time, and take the instruction, and grow from it.

In this course, students learn how to assess constitution and temperament using the Hippocratic foundations of traditional medicine and a structured astrological method. Students will learn to:
Evaluate health and constitution through the five primary observations: season, winds, waters, terrain, and diet.
Apply the theory of elements and qualities (hot, cold, moist, dry) to identify dominant temperaments and imbalances.
Understand health as a process of flux and attempted equilibrium, rather than static balance.
Use the Spica Temperament Grid to assign planetary starting positions and modify them by sign, aspects, solar hemisphere, and life stage.
Interpret grid placements to distinguish inner focus, material emphasis, transitional phases, and balanced states.
Identify dominant humoral patterns, significant conjunctions, and how temperament shifts across childhood, youth, prime age, and old age.
By the end of the course, students can perform a systematic constitutional and temperament analysis grounded in classical medical astrology.

Nāthan Naicker is a professionally trained astrologer working with both Western Astrology and Vedāṅga Jyotiṣa (Vedic Astrology). He has been a publicly-practising astrologer since 2014. His practice is grounded in formal study, classical sources, and structured application, with an emphasis on clarity, responsibility, and practical use. His work is consultation-based and focused on helping clients understand patterns, pressures, and timing in a grounded and methodical way. His background is as a petroleum reservoir engineer, and his current day job is operations manager for a software-as-is platform in the regtech/fintech industry. He therefore uses rigour and analytical thinking from a grounded scientific background as a foundation for intuitive insights. His background spans both Western and Vedic astrological traditions, with a particular emphasis on traditional and classical frameworks rather than modern interpretive hybrids. He approaches astrology as a technical discipline that requires study, discipline, and accountability. Alongside consultation work, He writes and teaches in order to clarify astrological concepts, correct common misunderstandings, and encourage responsible engagement with the subject.

His training includes formal study in Western astrology and Vedāṅga Jyotiṣa, with a strong emphasis on traditional source material and applied technique. Qualifications and formal study include: Diploma in Astrological Studies (2014, Rod Suskin); Diploma in Medieval Astrology (2012, Robert Zoller); Paṇḍita Jyotiṣa (2023, Sanjay Rath); ongoing study of classical texts and applied methods across both traditions (Bernadette Brady, Benjamin Dykes, Chris Brennan, Viṣṭi Larsen, Sarbani Rath, etc). His work reflects this dual training while maintaining clear methodological boundaries between systems, and focuses on areas where astrology can be applied responsibly and usefully. These include life direction, fertility and family, vocational questions, periods of pressure or transition, and longer-term planning. He places particular emphasis on timing, effort, and structural constraints, rather than reassurance or speculative prediction.
